Membership Coupons

The free membership coupons that were delivered to area residents are a huge hit! Many smiling new customers are presenting their coupons at the circulation desk and announcing, " I have been meaning to come and get a library card but this free coupon finally bought me in!"

Beleive it or not!!

I received a call last week from a bookclub participant wanting someone to go and pick her up for the program that evening. She couldn't understand that it wasn't a service we provided. She also wanted names and phone numbers of other participants to see if they would pick her up and take her home. I suggested possibly asking one of her neighbours or taking a cab.

Should we provide that sort of service for fee and increase revenues?? Food for thought!!
