Facebook CPL 2.0

Networking with other people to share and connect to things that are important is the appeal of websites like Facebook. Individuals have the capacity to share much more broadly than they have ever had before.

Facebook and similar websites could involve into a serious platform that change peoples lives and the way we live. Discussions or political ideas as well as "target" marketing could be in the future.

Unfortunately, I find Facebook involves a large amount of personal time!

CPL 2.0 Wikipedia

Wikipedia was far too busy a web site for me but it is often one of the top websites that appear when you do a Google search. I would use Wikipedia only when I need a quick overview of a topic and would not rely on its content to be 100 % accurate! But sometimes Wikipedia is far too lengthy for me to qet a quick overview!

The Simple English function on Wikipedia provides information in simple language and grammer suitable for children and adult who are learning English. This function may be useful for the some customers!

I did edit a comma on one article and it was difficult to find something to edit.

2.0 Delucious

I was not aware of social bookmarking sites and was also not aware that CPL had used the Delicious site to enter their own best websites. Perhaps this is something that is explained during IRS modules and has been missed by me.

Best websites have been very useful to me when answering reference questions and I do find that I am using the same sites repeatedly. It was disappointing to find out that I would have to sign up for Yahoo in order to have Delicious save my favorite bookmarks.

Yes, I am more comfortable using the Best Websites. Sometimes a tag will lead you to other useful bookmarks. It is helpful to be able to sort by date under display options in order to find older bookmarks or more current ones.

Staff members at my branch are creating blogs and adding to them from home making impressive blogs!!

Competitive or what????

The Chinese Seniors came to Forest Lawn and discovered the world of WII. Once the seniors found out all about Bowling, some of the ladies were so competitive that they had to be reminded that others needed a turn. One lady wouldn't let go and she played until she got several strikes in a row. It was so interesting to watch them and I also learned a few tips from them. While some were bowling, the others were doing tai-chi in the lobby.

Soccer & Sunshine

Today, FLAWN participated in a Resource Fair hosted by the Youth Diversity Cup. The Calgary Police Service, Boys & Girls Club and military Cadets were also there. We were all treated to a tremendous lunch cooked up by Community Kitchen and enjoyed Capoeira and Bhangra dance demonstrations. Oh yeah, and there was tons of great soccer! As for us, we had loads of help from our pages and teen volunteers with activities for kids. The beanbag toss and bookmark crafts were both big hits! All around it was a great event and we couldn't have asked for better weather!

On a quiet evening, I turn back from the register and see these two huge brown eyes staring at me over the desk. I lean down and ask him, "Can I help you?" In this tiny little voice he says, "The man who tells you to be quiet told me to come ask you..." I was so entertained by his description of our security guard that I needed him to repeat his question!
